August 2, 2011
Dear friends and supporters,
On August 2, 1990, Roger & I left Ottawa for the mission field. Today
as I remember that special day, I thank the Lord for the privilege of helping
some of the most beautiful children in the world. It is also TLCCM’s
17th yr. doing VBS & now most of my amazing team of workers are “kids” that
have been with us since the beginning. In the last 10 days we have ministered
to over 1,500 kids. I am so grateful for the privilege of being able to
show the love of Jesus to these children for the past 21 yrs.
I have been in Mexico for the last two weeks. Since March 2010, I have
my own apartment at Pastor’s Angel & his wife Conchita’s
house. That permits me to come more often. In 2010, I spent a total of 4
months on the field with my leaders/workers. I am well on my way to do the
same thing this year. TLCCM renovated the downstairs of this house which
now can accommodate 8-10 team members, not including myself. I have had
many visitors from Canada who have come to learn more about this ministry.
Nobody goes home the same as they came. Right now I have a full house, but
this time just Heather, my precious assistant-travelling companion, is with
me from Canada. My team of workers from Pastor Martin’s church, including
2 of our great cooks, are here do to their 3rd session of VBS at Pastor’s
Angel church. One could say that I have a very full house!!!!!
For those of you who are not on Facebook or have not checked our website
recently (www.tlccm.net), in 2010 we were able to get 2 previously owned
vehicles for both my pastors. What a blessing this has been. Yesterday,
both vans went to pick up kids that live too far from the church or kids
that have never been to the church, so they could come to VBS.
Our 2011 Golf Tournament organized by the men of my church was a great success.
We are hoping to break ground on Phase 1, of the new building at our feeding
station in Terrazas del Valle sometime in September.
In 2011, I have already seen 2 of my “kids” get married. We
also have three additional TLCCM “grandbabies” including our
precious little Caleb who was born prematurely in early July. His mom
Paola, has high blood pressure. She had to be hospitalized and for a few
days, both of their lives were in a critical condition. Many people were
praying for them including the intercessors at my local church, in Centro
de Amor & here
in Rosarito. He is very small but healthy. Last week, as I held him in
my arms, I really think he had his 1st smile for “abolita (grandma)
Denise”.
I want to thank all of you for your prayers and financial support. Without
your faithful financial support I would not be able to do what I am doing.
Every time I feed one of these kids or give them a little gift, all my partners
are doing it with me. I am the one receiving all the kisses and hugs, but
all of you who have been faithfully supporting this ministry are getting
the rewards directly from heaven.
MY next trip is planned for mid-October. I still have openings for team
members wanting to experience the mission field. If you are interested,
contact me asap.
All of you are in my daily prayers. Have a great day everyone.
Sincerely,
Denise and the TLCCM team
